Nic Hubbard reacted to thebruce0 in List UI view
Or perhaps a "power user" mode
That was a suggestion long ago for geosphere, but it's a significant development as it's essentially creating a new UI layout to cater to those who know the functionality and content so well that symbols and letters, at most, can be used to identify common or repeated information, and quicker access to most common functions can take priority over presentation and explanation... and to remove extra whitespace (*tsk* still @ Groundspeak on that for their web design).
Anyway. Thought I'd chime in

Nic Hubbard reacted to Michael in Problem when updating offline list with 'Basic Cache Data'
Hi Nic
Thanks for your detailed explanation. Not overwriting the existing full info and just updating the basic data would be a very nice feature ;-)
Thanks a lot and best regards
Michael

Nic Hubbard reacted to rragan in Satellite Views
This is more of an observation than a question. In the past I thought that Geosphere Google Satellite view had better resolution than what Cachly showed (although this could be due to stretching bits and not seeing anything new). Since Google Maps use is broken on Geosphere with iOS 10, this became an incentive to switch to Cachly.
With the new distance scale in both apps I was able to compare quantitatively.
Cachly best resolution
Apple Sat: 100 ft
Apple Flyover: 39 ft
Google Sat: 50 ft
Geosphere best resolution
Apple Sat: 100 ft
Google Sat: 50 ft initially but bit stretch down to 30 ft. This tells me Cachly is showing all the resolution Google sat view has to offer
I had not noticed the Apple Flyover option until I heard you on the Geocache Talk podcast. I am now blown away. It has the best resolution of any satellite view options.

Nic Hubbard reacted to JohnCNA in Refreshing an offline list
I only see this option while viewing an individual cache listing. Oh wait, it has that option on the map screen, but not in the list itself. Well, that will work. Thanks for giving me the nudge.

Or you can load up caches in the Live tab, then tap the ... and choose to save those to an Offline List. Or, you could import a GPX of caches. Many ways to have caches offline.

Nic Hubbard reacted to barefootguru in My hides not shown on live map
Never mind, I found it… My Hides were excluded under Search Options — assumed those options only affected searching, not the live map in general.

Absolutely. This is something that I have already added in for 2.0.3. Here are some screenshots:

Nic Hubbard reacted to Team DEMP in Adding WP with projection
See http://www.cach.ly/support/index.php?/topic/227-multi-cache-experience-trackables/#comment-885 where a similar request for waypoint & projections was requested and discussed.

Nic Hubbard reacted to Hko in Adding WP with projection
I just started to use Cachly, used L4C previously, like Cachly better!
Thing missing for me is the option to add a WP (while doing a multi f.e.) based on a projection (giving bearing and distance).
in L4C you can add a WP where you pick the point from which you want the projection to be calculated ( incl. other already stored WPs or current location), give bearing and distance and it will calculate and create the "WP+1" for you...
I hope you understand I am asking for More then happy to explain in more details!
thx!

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from DavSteph42 in Send all logs
Yes, this is a feature that we have been working on. However it isn't a quick and simple thing to add. Here is what has to happen with this feature:
Upload pending logs, one at a time to the server. If pending log has a trackable to log, log each trackable one at a time. If pending log has images to upload, upload images one at a time. So there are quite a few working pieces to this feature. That being said, we are still actively working on it.

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from Bolling in Offline Search
This feature is now in Cachly 2.0.2.
Let me also add that we are working on a much more powerful Filtering feature that I think you will be happy with. It will be super powerful and flexible, can't wait for everyone to see/use it!

The feature for the user to select which pending logs to send sounds promising for a future update.

I'm liking the new time setting in 2.0.2, it works a treat and a great addition to the app.

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from Bunkshyde in Display List by Direction
Welcome to Cachly!
This is something that I do have on our feature list, and I hope to get it added by our 2.1 version. Stay tuned!

Nic Hubbard reacted to rragan in Bookmark-like support
Exactly. My Geosphere Street View bookmark is defined as:
comgooglemaps://?center=[LATITUDE],[LONGITUDE]&mapmode=streetview
And sharing a cache link via SMS is
sms:&body=[WAYPOINT]

Nic Hubbard reacted to barefootguru in How to download the offline maps?
@Starsqual the reason for this change — and simplification — is that Cachly now downloads vector-based maps rather than 'tiles'. This means an entire state or country is the same size map download as a single caching area previously. So if your caching is in a single state/country you download once and forget about it.

Great suggestion. I have this on our feature list and will see how hard it would be to develop.

Nic Hubbard reacted to bblais in Display direction "fan" when not in map rotate mode
Having used Cachly for a few weeks to see how I like it (coming from Geosphere), the one thing that I find missing from the experience is something to display where I am facing without the full rotate map mode. In that mode there is a little "fan" showing the direction, and I'd like to see that (or be able to turn it on) in all modes. Otherwise I have to keep flipping back between the compass and the map, which is inconvenient given the number of times you have to do it. I personally find the full map rotation to be disorienting in all apps (not just Cachly), so I like to have the map static when navigating. thanks!

Nic Hubbard reacted to Team DEMP in How to download the offline maps?
On the main map page that is displayed when you launch Cachly, click on the map icon displayed at the bottom. It's the icon with 3 stacked squares.
In the map window that opens, the top option is Download Offline Maps. Click Download Offline Maps, then Europe and then Belgium or whatever countries you want to have offline.
I hope that helps.
