Nic Hubbard got a reaction from Vertumnis in Change filter Icon to RED when active
In 5.0 I am making it very obvious that filtering is turned on:
You will also be able to tap the label to access the filtering options.

Nic Hubbard reacted to Wakisashi in Hidden Month Filtering
It would be great if you could easily filter hidden month caches in one filter. Say I wanted to see all caches hidden in 2001 in January (not a specific day). I would create 1 filter to see all caches hidden on Jan 2001 (without specifying a specific day).
I know you can get around this by creating 2 filters. One for any cache hidden on or after 01/01/2001, and another filter for everything on or before 31/01/2001.
The second process may be challenging for others to figure out. Might be cool to name the new filter “Jasmer (Month & Year)”.
This request would be helpful to those working on their Jasmer grids.
Thanks, Chris

Nic Hubbard reacted to Ezh_gps in Send waypoint or cache to another app
Thank you for the reply, Nic!
Yes. Something like "Open Link" menu item in "..." menu on the cache description page and on waypoint page which is configurable by the user. So the user could give a name to the action and provide the URL command. For two apps described above user could set up actions with the names "Open in OffMaps" and "Send to GCBuddy" and appropriate URLs stated above.

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from Twinklekitkat in Who is using "Logs"?
I built the Logs tab because it is something I use all the time and really love. I wanted to give Cachly a social media feel, where the Logs tab was like a timeline of events that you could go back and explore.

Nic Hubbard reacted to Hamelenser in Mark trackables as “Always Visit”
Great!
It might also make sense to have sort options for my trackable inventory. The ones I can think of are:
Alphabetically Most recently logged By activation date I have a couple of trackables that I take to geocaches quite often (but not always all of them)
So "most recently" logged would automatically put these on top of the list to choose from. For example:
My token that I take to every geocache My 'cache mobile' coin that I only take to geocaches I went to my car My 'cach'n'bike' coin that I only take to geocaches I went to by bicycle

You are meaning, if the last x logs were a DNF then alter the cache icon? Yeah, this is possible.

This would be possible to add for offline filtering. But online filtering doesn't have an API available to do this.

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from PlasmaWave in Is there a way to tell if an iPhone is receiving GPS data?
The only issue I have with this is cluttering up the interface. We would also need to know if this would be valuable to other users.

No, I don't know of any native app to show this info, but the native API's that I use can show this info.

It's these small changes that largely go unnoticed that give the feeling of "Wow, it all works so smoothly"

Nic Hubbard reacted to elrojo14 in "cachly-07-14-2018-2203.txt" is not in the correct format.
I figured it out. That Rails to Trails #22 had (null) in it for the date and time and GC.com didn't like that. I went and edited out the parenthesis and insert a fake time and got it to upload. I am not sure why it didn't recognize a date and time on my original note.

Nic Hubbard reacted to barefootguru in Streamlining imports
Also when creating a new list, Cachly should select it too, to save a needless step.

Nic Hubbard reacted to rragan in Streamlining imports
I think I may have asked for this but I'm not certain so here goes.
When I am importing multiple individual caches to add to a list, I have to choose list over and over. If Cachly retained the last list imported to as a default choice (see pic), the choosing process is eliminated after the first time. Things are no worse if you don't want that list, just tap the > and choose a different one.

Nic Hubbard reacted to Highlands_guy in Coordinate projection when off line (no cell coverage)
Thanks. That was probably it.
I was near the Canada US boarder and my phone was seeing the US cell system. I have roaming turned off, so not to get any data charges.
I'll try again with airplane mode on.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the suggestion. You can actually do this already right in iOS. Here is how:

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from ChrisDen in Power Trail Caching
Instead of cluttering up the map callout, I think this would be an excellent use for our 3D/force touch feature. So you would be able to hard press on the map callout to show these additional options. Would that help?

Nic Hubbard reacted to HikingSeal in Lost drafts
Just to bring an end to the thread. No I didn't replicate it. I didn't try to. With the site being down I just used the Send as Text feature, imported it into GSAK and finished my logging there. It was an individual log.
I guess it would be hard to build a safety net for this since it is a thankfully rare occurrence and what a user experiences as a site being down could be different in the background with the API.
