I have fixed this issue, with help from Clyde from GSAK.
I will push out a new beta with this fix and Settings option. It will be in 2.0.2 so we will have to wait for Apple to approve the beta, which is pretty quick.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry for the re-request. Hopefully you can find an easy solution.
Found it! Thanks. If it were a venomous snake I'd be dead.

Downloaded Cachly a few days before Ver 2 came out. I'm a GeoSphere user. So here are a couple ideas for you to kick around :-)
Just listened to you on the Geocaching Podcast. Great job btw.

Friends list: This is a c:geo thing I believe. When you view a cache, you can also see if any of your friends have found the cache. The friends list comes from "Your Friends" list on geocaching.com. A older version of GeoSphere would show your log(if you loaded a cache you found) and the logs of your friends.

Field note templates: GeoSphere lets you create FN templates so when you log a field note you don't have to type the same thing over. This is great for when you are caching with someone you can already have this part in your log. Also great for copy & paste logs on power trails. GeoSphere also lets you add local date/time and find count to your log. I always 'sign' my geonick and where I am from on all my logs.

Thanks for your hard work and listening to your users of your app!! I hope to learn more about cachly as I get more time to cache!

Normally it's iOS doing it, that was a test case.  Good to hear it's on the list

Hi, currently when iOS quits Cachly, I lose what I've been looking at.
e.g. go into an offline list, look at the caches on the map, then double-click the home button and swipe Cachly up.  When relaunching Cachly, it will show the Live view and it's forgotten what list I was looking at.
My feature request is Cachly remember what I was doing

I had mentioned this behavior in http://www.cach.ly/support/index.php?/topic/108-a-couple-of-suggestions/#comment-330 in suggestion/request #1. I think it's been added to the list but bumped for more meaningful enhancements.

Hi, currently when looking at a cache and selecting ‘View on geocaching.com’, the page appears in a portal inside Cachly and it's another step to open in Safari.
The reason for wanting to view on the GS site, is to get the full power of both the site and Safari.
Maybe most people, or Nic, appreciate the current behaviour; but on the chance they're all silently suffering like me, thought I'd post this

Thanks @Nic Hubbard.  I'll eagerly await this change, and use one of the workarounds in the mean time - probably "find cache using Cachly then log it with Geosphere", as that has worked for me the last few days, although it does mean that I need to keep two copies of the caches on my phone up to date - but that's not too difficult to achieve with a daily export of caches from GSAK via dropbox in to each app.
Again many thanks for your rapid responses and eagerness to make your app more functional and the best caching app out there.  I'm loving many of the features of Cachly.

Yes, I think adding an option with a big warning about this is what we will do. Still working on the specifics, so it might not be for a little while until we release that version.
    Thanks for everyone's input.

Yes, this feature is being added in 2.0.1. It is currently just a "quick search" and not the full filtering functionality that we will be adding in 2.1.

What you noted and were told was my assumption too. There was a thread I'm sure I can find where someone claimed they were told by a GC developer that it required updating/data migration, etc which didn't make sense.

So if they properly store it as UTC, then they need to add in a view of the data using either browser/device timezone or a new account setting for timezone which just effects the display. The underlying data remains UTC.

And should GC "fix" it, the info displayed for Geosphere generated logs and whoever else manipulated the log data will likely be out of whack.

You findings match the analysis in the threads I've reviewed in the Geocaching forums.  I also had a pretty rough discussion in one of the threads where others, not in the know, claim it must be a HUGE issue because GC hasn't done anything to fix it. They claim it requires updating all data, etc. I completely disagree based on way too many years of implementing technology solutions and I expect there are multiple ways to address the situation.

Instead of addressing a real issue like this, they focus on changing the icons. Go figure.

I would do the same as Nic or if it was a real issue for users, make it an option they could enable with a HUGE disclaimer on the potential problem that would occur if GC ever does it properly.

The large file contains all the caches within Missouri. I really do not need them all to load into the map but just a much smaller number within a radius of my location. Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks again @Nic Hubbard.  Your assistance and quick response on these forums (and emails) is greatly appreciated.
I've had a friend who uses c:Geo on Android to put a Write Note on that cache as well, and that's showing "Today" - so it appears that either a) It is Today now, or b): c:Geo is also doing whatever is required to log the correct date too.

Not only does it help clear things up, it solves one of my largest issues. Now that I know where to input the text file (clearly I was importing it into the wrong place), it works perfectly. But it goes beyond just giving me a simple place to create offline logs, it also automatically modifies the "Found" status in GSAK as soon as the Cachly file is read into GSAK. Perfect!
Thanks so much, Nick for not only solving my offline logging issue but also for having the patience with me that actually led to a resolution of my GSAK integration problem!
As another Geosphere refugee, I am loving this app more each day!

Nic Hubbard reacted to AnyMules in Navigating with TomTom
With the option to navigate to a cache with TomTom, the TomTom app launches fine and "show"s a marker for the cache location (which I'm assuming you're using a "tomtomhome:geo:action=show&lat=[LATITUDE]&long=[LONGITUDE]"), but then additional screen presses are then required to set that as the location and start navigation.
Is it possible to have it changed to "navigate" to the cache (or the waypoint that is selected) using "tomtomhome:geo:action=navigateto&lat=[LATITUDE]&long=[LONGITUDE]&name=[WAYPOINT]" instead so it works similar to the Google Maps and Apple Maps options?

Thanks @Team DEMP, I can understand that there are people who may want it to stay the same, and I would be happy for an option for people to switch the behaviour on and off if that's deemed a suitable alternative by @Nic Hubbard.
Logging caches on the web site also logs them with what I consider the "wrong" date as well - as, again, it logs the find with whatever the date and time are at GC HQ.  For those of us "down under", this is quite often the "previous day" until late afternoon when the US catches up to the right day.
So, unless something can be added to the app to make it use the local date/time when logging a cache, it will always be logging them at the GC HQ date/time which completely throws any stats generated out, and also can screw up cache streaks as, while I may have found a cache "yesterday" and "today" my time, the "HQ time" may show them both being on the same day due to the time difference - this means going back on-line on the web site and manually editing cache logs to get them to be logged on the correct day.  This was particularly painful the other day when I was using Cachly offline in a non-phone reception area all day and had to go back and edit 60+ cache logs individually to correct them all.
The Geosphere app appears to have some fix for this, and logs things at the local date/time it is told to.  GSAK also seems to use the dates it is set to use as well from what I have seen.  If I can just use one app to log everything correctly, then that'll make life much easier.  I'm keen to try the "fixed" version in the beta @Nic Hubbard sent me tomorrow to see how it fares.

The green dot shows the list that is currently loaded into memory. This can help speed things up if you have a huge list and you want to navigate away and then return to it.

Downloading PQs don't have any options because it will automatically download "Full" caches which do not count toward the users daily download count. So that is a good thing.
In 2.0.1 it will also automatically download images, but there will be a new option in Settings to turn that off if you don't want that to happen.
