  1. I have it on "a list" but I don't have it slated for an upcoming release. I need to do more research about it, but from what I have read previously getting multiple readings on iPhone is not very effective like it is on a GPSr.
  2. I do have this on our list for offline lists. Just need to design how it would look.
  3. I am just trying my best to do my part in creating a Geocaching app that everyone loves and wants to use. It is a work in progress as is any software. More great stuff to come!
  4. The only issue with this is that it uses "full" caches in order to get that data. For Premium users that isn't too bad since you can load 6,000 full caches per day, but regular users get 3 per day. Also, I wouldn't want to implement this without it being off by default since premium users could pretty quickly use up their caches if they were really exploring around the map. We do have this on our list, but these are the major reasons why it hasn't been added yet.
  5. I think I mentioned this before, but this is standard and expected functionality for an MKMapView in iOS. This is just how it works when you touch the screen the map will stop all follow modes. This is also the way the iOS Maps app works, this is the way the Official Groundspeak app works, and I am pretty sure all other Geocaching apps work this way as well. Not trying to be defensive, it just isn't a quick problem to solve for a number of reasons. I realize this is not ideal for most Geocachers as they want to "lock" the follow mode. This is functionality that we are going to need to develop ourselves to override how iOS maps current work. It is something we will be working on for an upcoming version.
  6. Thanks for updating us! Can you explain what you mean?
  7. Thanks for the suggestion, will add it to our feature list!
  8. You can press and hold on the map and it will drop a pin, then tap the info button on the callout and choose Save Location. This will allow you to then refine the coordinates and save that location. These can then be accessed by going to More and Saved Locations. You can also tap your current location to create a Saved Location. These saved locations can then be used to navigate to using the compass and target features of Cachly. Does this help?
  9. No, we don't have control over that granular level of searching of the geocaching.com database. I think the only one that can do that is project-gc.
  10. So sounds like it is working better?
  11. This fix was just implemented within the last hour.
  12. This would require having all those past 2 years of logs saved offline though. Is this what you were planning?
  13. Geocaching HQ has implemented a fix for this. Are you able to test and see if it is working better for you now?
  14. The best way would be to import a GPX file into Cachly with all of the caches. This would allow those caches to function like normal caches, expect and geocaching.com functionality wouldn't work, since they wouldn't be registered caches. There are various apps that can create GPX files such as GSAK on the PC and iCaching on the Mac. Does this help?
  15. Do you live close to an Apple Store where you could take it to the Genius Bar to see if they can diagnose the compass issue?
  16. These are follow modes. 1 is normal, 2 is follow, 3 is follow with heading. So 2 will follow you and move the map but will not change the heading of the map. This is in our 3.0 beta. Remind me what iPhone you are using? I am wondering if there is a hardware issue here. A huge amount of Cachly users are also on iOS 10.3 and we have not had any other reports of this issue.
  17. You can double tap the screen to zoom in or two finder tap to zoom out without the map orientation changing. In 3.0 we also have a new heading indicator that shows on the current location point, which is very helpful. Have you checked the iOS Compass app to see if it shows the same as Cachly? Here is something to try: Open the Settings application. Tap on Privacy. Select on Location Services. Kill the Compass and afterward switch it back ON. Also, make sure that Privacy > Location Services > System Services > Compass Calibration is turned on.

The compass wouldn't affect the actual projection math. Can you show me the cache or explain more what you are meaning?
  19. This is a feature that I plan to add. Hoping to get it into 3.0.1.
  20. What navigation setting are you meaning? Did you see my question about if the iOS Compass app works correctly? And if you are using a case that has metal on it?
  21. @JohnCNA isn't using the beta, so your results will be different. @JohnCNA in the current 2.0.3 version search for coordinates is broken. Apple updated an API we used and they broke our coordinate search. This is fixed in 3.0 with our own custom coordinate parser.
  22. Have you had this issue before? Can you please try logging the cache, then when it does work go to the More tab and use the Email Support option. Then make sure to send Diagnostics data. This will allow us to see what data is trying to get sent to the geocaching.com API and will give me a much better idea of what is going on.
  23. This is not a problem with the compass at all. This is the standard way that maps work in iOS and in the iOS Maps app. We do have a feature request in for developing our own functionality for this to "lock" the map rotation mode. Hoping it can make it into 3.0.1. You are writing letters to Tim Cook about this? I would guarantee that Apple knows the difference between magnetic and true north, they have thousands of developers working on iOS. What specific issue are you having pertaining to magnetic and true north? One other important question, do you have a case on your phone that has metal in it? Also, does the iOS Compass app work correctly while Cachly compass does not?
  24. These timeout issues are all on the geocaching.com server end, we aren't able to do anything at this point to fix the issue. I have reported it so they do know about the issue.
