I have to agree with you there. A developer who listens and no harm in asking.
Yep I'm one of the Geosphere users TeamDemp mentioned although I try my best not to say "in Geosphere" although I'm sure I've been guilty.

Thanks TeamDemp. I didn't know what looping was either.
Personally, this isn't the type of development path I'd prefer to see Cachly take. I think there is already a big list of more widely useful items. No offense to @rustywa

Would find it handy to be able to download a low-res map of the entire world.

This cannot be changed. Domains that are tied to apps have a small XML file that the server hosts. When an app says that it wants to open URLs in the app instead of the browser, iOS checks that the domain has the special file, and that the app has a special file that ties the two together and shows that that app is the owner. We cannot overwrite this.
Even if we could I would not feel right about doing so. The ethics of doing that, however convenient, isn't something I would want to do.
Hopefully iOS will someday allow the option to choose which app you want to open it in.

The logging behavior you are looking for is the reason I switched all logging to local Cachly phone drafts and then uploaded as drafts (aka field notes) to the web site. It allows me to edit locally until I upload and then look at the logs on a real computer before I submit them. I was making too many typos and not writing out everything I wanted from my phone and this approach addressed that. Even if I have a full cell signal I still log it locally as a draft and submit it after I'm back home as a draft to the geocaching site.

I see you made the change. I think it should be a little more obvious now.

I do have this on our list for offline lists. Just need to design how it would look.

I must admit I don't average the readings. Walk away and back again numerous times. From that there is one set of coords that appear more than others surrounded by a few that are .001 out. Then there are some that are different by  3 or 4 thousands. Those need to be ignored.
To me a simple average brings in one's that are obviously incorrect. I would not have this feature as a priority. There are others that are far more useful eggs Status update, delete a cache from all offline lists

The only issue with this is that it uses "full" caches in order to get that data. For Premium users that isn't too bad since you can load 6,000 full caches per day, but regular users get 3 per day. Also, I wouldn't want to implement this without it being off by default since premium users could pretty quickly use up their caches if they were really exploring around the map.
We do have this on our list, but these are the major reasons why it hasn't been added yet.

    Hi Nic
I think it would be nice if the options that are available if an offline list has been selected (like 'Update Caches' or 'Download Cache Images') via '...', would also be selectable in the offline list view when you drag the list to the left and select 'Options'. So you wouldn't have to select an offline list and then do something, instead you could do these tasks already in the list view
    Thanks for your good work!

That probably is a good idea.
Just don't include a video telling us what a cache is.... OK nasty attack on official app.

UserID might also have fixed the issue with special characters in the username. I imagine it's not an easy programming switch from username to UserID internally but it may be worth it in the long run even if it has to wait until a future version. I suspect only a small subset of users is impacted, but it sounds like for those that are there can be numerous problems.

You can do that but it does take money for them to run the website. Personally, I've been a Premium member since I started caching in 2007 and think it's well worth the price. Of course we all have unique financial situations and priorities.

I did some caching in New York City and Boston least week. Most of the time Cachly seemed quite accurate. At times it was off but there were also times when checking my location on Google Maps could be a block of too.  It still seems to me like more of a phone limitation than a Cachly limitation.

I did test this by importing into GSAK and then exporting from there and it displays properly. In my case my Offline imports come through GSAK at least 75% of the time, just not in when I first tried this TC import. The GSAK solution works for me, but I realize there may be other TC users who don't use GSAK.

Cachly does have basic URL scheme support:
    cachly:// Opens the app
cachly://?gccode=<code> to open a specific cache
Adding more is for sure on our radar.

To expand a bit, Geosphere has the ability to display the proximity circles as an overlay on the map, and it's also set to only show on physical waypoints - posted coordinates for physical cache types, and multi-stage and final waypoints. (reference points, parking/trailhead/virtual etc are not relevant for proximity concerns and so don't show the circle).  It's a very useful feature, especially when planning for cache placement in a busier area.
