Currently the images that are in the body of a description are not saved offline. It would take a bit of work to support this feature but we do have it on our list.

I have reported this to Apple legal. Let's see if anything happens. We do have a trademark on the word Cachly so they should at least force this developer to change the name.

I do have this on our list for offline lists. Just need to design how it would look.

The feature that @rragan mentioned will be coming but not in 3.0. Hoping I can get it added in 3.0.1.

Apparently you can force a recalibration by turning Location Services off & on.  https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/257005/how-to-see-compass-accuracy-and-recalibrate-the-compass-in-ios-10

The date might be the PQ date… whenever I download a new PQ it always goes to the top of the Offline list (as Nik says).
Tap Edit to arrange them in your desired order.

Yes, you can use iTunes and save the entire SQLite database (actually all three sqlite files) to your computer. Then hook up a different device and this time use the "Add to" option in iTunes and you can overwrite the database on your other device. I tested this and it works great.

I'm in New Zealand and my Cachly logs now default to the correct day, instead of lagging a day if submitted before 19:00 (Cachly date correction is turned off).
Feels like GS is going in the wrong direction by removing what little timezone support (UTC) they did have.
Be interesting to see if they handle finds around midnight now and during daylight savings correctly.

If Cachly had a shared database then if you logged in as a different user you'd see somebody else's data, which seems wrong.
I'm guessing Groundspeak won't let you access an internal ID which doesn't change?
So I think the existing behaviour is correct.
If there's no data when starting the app, you could display a dialog saying data needs to be downloaded, including if you've renamed your username?

    Welcome to Cachly
Having a line linking your position and the destination makes sense to me, and I've seen it used in other (non-caching) navigation apps.
You can always just back out to the main map screen and do your own navigation from there.

Just look at the subscription as paying Groundspeak to host the cache database, and ignore their atrocious app and questionable website design

Minor correction. Testing shows it only works if you omit the question mark before gccode keyword.

Cachly does have basic URL scheme support:
    cachly:// Opens the app
cachly://?gccode=<code> to open a specific cache
Adding more is for sure on our radar.

I have considered using iCloud for features like this. They would be synced across all devices that use your iCloud account (if you login to iCloud).
However, this would likely be a 2.2 or 3.0 feature.

barefootguru reacted to bloodycool in Cachly 2.1 and map clustering input needed
I am also not at all a fan of clustering, but if you have thousands of caches in a list, I think that is completely reasonable. If all else, you can created another smaller list. I keep a list of around 1,000 of the caches nearest to my home, but I can't even imagine a 10k or 20k cache list.
I think what you have proposed is very reasonable, though I wouldn't want offline lists to load up in list mode unless they were over 1000 caches (or maybe the user can set the default behavior). As noted above, I keep an offline list of the nearest 1,000 caches and that is how I do most of my local caching. It would be annoying to have an extra step of switching from list to map view every time I use my offline list, which is 90% of the time.
As always, fantastic job on the app and the updates. I introduced it to a couple more people at a recent geocaching event, and bought it for another friend for their birthday.

I like the idea of changing the DNF to a blue dot… I realise Cachly is using traffic-light colours, but I can never remember what shade of red represents what log.

I too would appreciate a download icon instead of an arrow… that screens looks similar enough to Offline Lists that I sometimes mistakenly tap a query.  Then have to wait and delete the duplicate download.

Ah, well spotted.  I have that option turned off because I can't handle the main map being zoomed and moved out of my control.
But I'd expect looking at a COs subset of caches — not on the main map — would zoom and scroll automatically regardless… in the same way as first going into an offline list.  Can't think of a reason not to?

Never mind, I found it… My Hides were excluded under Search Options — assumed those options only affected searching, not the live map in general.
