The issue where it gets reset when pinching in/out was fixed in 1.1. Have you upgraded to that version?

As for setting a mode as a default, there isn't currently a way to do this. But, just a though that I could build it so that if you long press on a mode it would "lock" that mode. what do you think?

You are in luck. All of these features are already available.

What you are looking for is Search Options. These can be accessed by tapping the gear icon that is inside of the search bar. That will give you a plethora of search options including hide my finds and choosing what cache type to search for.

Nic Hubbard got a reaction from MooDeux in DNF map icon
This is something that we are looking into doing, the major issue here is that the Groundspeak/geocaching.com API that Cachly users does not provide DNF data. So we will have to figure out a way to store this data on our own server, and it wouldn't be retroactive.

What map provider were you using? Map tiles will be downloading directly from their providers, so I am not sure what the slowdown would be. Have not seen this issue myself.

Absolutely. In an upcoming version this screen will be completely changed basically making it a one tap download that users won't have to think about. It will also download all zoom levels as we are changing the algorithm to only download tiles in a radius around caches.
This feature can be turned on by tapping the current location button to toggle its "modes". There is No Follow, Follow and Follow with Heading.
Both these have been requested by other users as well and are something we are working on. Showing that a cache has been found, but not yet submitted the log wouldn't be hard. The DNF feature is something a bit harder since Groundspeak doesn't support this in their API. So we will need to use our own server to handle the DNF's for all users.
Great idea about the zooming. Will get this added to our feature list.

Absolutely. Working on some additional ways to show accuracy throughout the app. Should be included in our next release.

Thanks for using Cachly! I highly value user feedback, so I really appreciate all of your comments and questions. My goal is to make the best Geocaching app out there, and this can't be done without users help!

    Hello,

Just downloaded Cachly after hearing about it through PodCacher. Love all of the features included in this app that aren't included in other apps. One thing I would like to see is the ability to download bookmark lists that have already been created through geocaching.com. I know I can make new lists to download, but it would be much easier to download a list that has already been created. Also as previously mentioned in another post (which it sounds like you are already working on) is a live map. I love this feature about the official geocaching app, and would love to see it on Cachly!

Thank you for your contribution to the Caching community!

Thank you! Glad you are liking using Cachly!

Souvenirs are something that is on our feature list and will be out in an upcoming version of Cachly.

Messages however is something that Groundspeak hasn't provided for third-party developers, so at this point we are not able to implement it. If, in the future this changes we will be sure to add it right away.

Live Maps are something that have been on our Feature Roadmap for a while, and we hope to get it added very soon. New Offline Maps will be first and then we can start focusing on some more large features like Live Maps.

I can't really think of anything better to put there
Just didn't know if there was some geocachey thing I was missing

If clicking "123 finds" took me to my logs - I'd rather have "My Info" there so I can quickly see my cache count instead of more > settings > logged in as

Seeing my logs is pretty nice when I'm trying to open back up a cache I'm telling coworkers about!

I just figured out the pips when you open a cache on the 'view logs' button show the last 5 log types - something just like that would be fantastic for on the map pop-up.

I think they're trying to use the login credentials for the forum to login on the front page of the app (which is acutally your geocaching.com login info)

This is an excellent idea, and one that we just bumped up the list of features that we will include.

It should be really easy to integrate with Google Translate, which would also do language detection.

We regularly go caching around Europe but are unable to read some cache pages when in a different language
If there was a feature, say a flag by the hint or description, which if you clicked on, then it would copy that text and paste it into a Google translate window.
I wouldn't suggest having a save facility, as the user could always do a screen shot to save.
Rather than designing your own translation feature, I'm sure that Google have a facility for this that can be utilised, ideally with the auto language detect feature
The key areas for the translate feature would be hint (why not ago decode the hint), then description and finally the logs. I would suggest a translate flag next to each log so they can be translated one at a time.
While caching in Europe data charges are still quiet expensive, so a keep it simple solution would be ideal and reduce the data requirements. We just had a week in Germany, Belgium and Netherlands and it cost about $60 for 500mb which went rather quickly. I was copying the text, pasting into a translate app to translate and repeating.
This may not give a perfect translation, but for cachers travelling to different countries, it would really help.
Possibly have a switch in the settings to display the translate flag or not and then put the flag bottom right of the text after the description/hint/each log
Many thx for listening and hope other users will find this useful, it would be a strong unique feature that no one else currently does
