    Turn GPS On/Off

You can also buy more time by putting the device in Low Power Mode via Battery in Settings. This turns off some things you likely won't miss and will extend your battery time. It auto exits this mode once you charge back to over 80%.

  4. Just downloaded on Sunday, got the update Monday. So far so good. Still learning what I'm doing. Any place you can go and read about some of these features?

  5. Hi It would be good if the 'Offline' mode would not load any online data. E.g. I noticed that when in 'Offline' mode and reading the logs of an offline cache, the images of the cachers are downloaded online. Maybe something like this would be nice ;-) if (offline) { display_standard_gray_circle_for_cacher_avatar(); else download_and_display_cacher_avatar(); } This would help to reduce the data consumption when I'm caching abroad :-) Best regards Michael

  6. Glad you are liking that feature! That particular feature took the most time of any feature in the 2.0 update.

  8. A broad question but if you are asking about how to upload a picture with your log submission... When you are in the screen where you type the log entry, there's a + in dashed box in the bottom left. If you click that + you can either attach a picture you've already taken from your phone's photo library or you can take a new picture. Is that what you are looking for?

    PQ pictures

Images don't currently download for PQ's. However this will be added in 2.0.1 which we are hoping to submit the Apple this week. The option will be on by default, but can be turned off in Settings for those users that do not have much space. We are also adding two new Offline List options to delete cache images from a list, and to re-download images for a list.

  10. My favourite feature is vector maps — have downloaded the entirety of New Zealand for the same size as a suburb before :] It looks great, thanks for the hard work and dialogue Nic.

    Droid version

Not at this time. We are a very small development team, so we are focusing on iOS at the moment. If that changes we will be sure to announce it.

    Turn GPS On/Off

I'd heard on the Geosphere Forums that your customer support was second to none and now I know the rumours are true!! I hadn't properly connected the Location icon with the GPS as I was under the impression that Location came from multiple sources (incl internet routers, wifi & GPS). If it's that clearcut, then you've just locked me onto another important tool for managing battery performance in the field. Thanks also for the Airplane Mode tip - hadn't hooked into that one either!! Think I'll go back to the Geosphere Forum now and see if I can drum up some more customers for you - you deserve them

    Turn GPS On/Off

Correct. You can even test this by being in Cachly, then locking your phone. When you press the power button again (still on lock screen) you can wait until the location icon in the status bar turns off. This means GPS is no longer being used. Yes, GPS switches back on if you unlock your phone and are back in Cachly. Another tip to save battery life is to turn your phone to Airplane Mode. Since iOS 8 you have been able to use GPS while in Airplane Mode. This will also really save on battery. I will still add the GPS on/off idea to our feature list. I think it is a valid request that we will explore. Thanks!
