  1. The filter already works that way. Just filter out Found and DNF.
  2. I guess I was wrong about the map icon part.
  3. I don't know how you wouldn't have to copy/paste. The translation in Cachly opens a Safari window with Google Translate. Of course Nick may have some slick trick up his sleeve. I see why you don't care about it being in a GPX though.
  4. I just checked recent feedback on the App Store. I see that most users really like Cachly. In my opinion most who don't like it don't like it because they are Basic members and were expecting to see more geocaches. You clearly state this limitation in the product description. However, it's at the very bottom. I suggest you consider moving this disclaimer to a more prominent location, probably with the "Find Caches" information. You might get fewer sales from basic members, but overall ratings may improve which might help in the long run. Just a thought.
  5. Before I give this a "vote" (not sure if that really matters), I have a question. Why not just put the translated text into the Cache Note? Then you can work in Cachly or the website. If a new field for translated descriptions is created, how does that work if you try to export a GPX and import somewhere else?
  6. I've never noticed what you are referring to for Needs Maintenance caches, only for Disabled caches. Your cache is not disabled. If you disable it until you check on it, it will have the other icon and strikethrough.
  7. Daily List? That sounds fun. Maybe in retirement.......
  8. I do the multiple reading approach as well. I leave and come back and take a new reading and then usually type the last three digits of each coordinate into a spreadsheet and average them. I think a future enchantment that can average multiple coordinates within Cachly could be useful and result in better coordinates than just leaving the phone in one place and averaging over time.
  9. I'd like to this feature in a future version as well. I've done a lot of offline cache searching lately, and quite a few times I wished to see the last five logs earlier.
  10. I don't know your scout group, but I do question whether Cachly is the right tool. Don't get me wrong, Cachly is an excellent app for geocaching, but here's my two cents worth (again, not knowing your group). 1) Are all your scouts iPhone users. If not, what will Android or other users use? 2) Will scouts be willing to pay $5 for app when there are free alternatives ($5 is a bargin for an app like Cachly, but people tend to have passionate opinions about paying for apps). I suspect there are free apps out there that can do what you want to do.
  11. That would be a very useful feature. For now I do what barefootguru does.
  12. Cool. I was about to make the same request!
  13. I posted a maintenance log to one of my geocaches from Cachly at approximately 19:35 EDT yesterday, 31May. The log shows up in Cachly as being posted 01Jun. The geocaching website shows the correct date. Using Beta 16.
  14. That was interesting. Personally I prefer Google Maps and rarely use Apple.

    Widget

I almost put 4.0 in my message but decided to be more optimistic. I realize that this is out there a ways. Thanks for your consideration.

    Widget

I'm not a fan of the "official" app. In fact I never use it for geocaching. I have kept it on my phone for the message center (let's not get a discussion started about that topic). That said, there is one feature I've found that I really like when away from home -- the lock screen Widget that shows the nearest three caches. I've found it to be super useful to see if there is a cache nearby. Then, if so, I can open Cachly. I realize that you have to follow different API rules than Groundspeak does. But, I would like to inquire as to whether a Cachly widget could be an option for a future version? The current widget appears to only update when on screen, so I assume an API call only happens when necessary. That would be your main limitation I suspect. Plus, I guess it would have to be limited to premium Geocaching members or it would be useless. Anyway, it's a good enough feature I'll keep the official app on my phone just so I have the widget -- a Cahcly widget would be the tops though!
  17. I used that feature. Very useful when in the road. I'd love to see that filter added.
  18. That probably is a good idea. Just don't include a video telling us what a cache is.... OK nasty attack on official app.
  19. That video explains what I now see, but I never experienced that problem until I tried to. Strange.
  20. I was not having this problem but decided to try to reproduce it. I turned off wifi to have a slow 3G connection. I did not experience the issue with a couple of tries. I tested a couple of times closing Cachly between each test. I then see started with the first option Metric Units and turned it on. I experienced the same problem vanBaarsel described. I turned Metric back off but now I repeatedly have the same problem.
  21. UserID might also have fixed the issue with special characters in the username. I imagine it's not an easy programming switch from username to UserID internally but it may be worth it in the long run even if it has to wait until a future version. I suspect only a small subset of users is impacted, but it sounds like for those that are there can be numerous problems.
  22. I would agree with those that think this information should be tied to the account. However doesn't reach user have a numerical ID? Can this info be tied to the ID instead of the username (can you get this information during login)? I assume that even when you change your username this ID stays the same.
