She posted another review. Cachly stacks up nicely.

I can almost guarantee you that Nick will reply saying this is a great idea (which it is) but not possible. I doubt it's part of the API because it's not in any app that I know of. In fact there is a current discussion in the GSAK forum where a user is writing a SQL query to get this information from their GSAK database. This wouldn't be necessary if either the GPX file or the API provided this information.
While it's possible that I'm wrong I know I won't be wrong about Nick replying because Cachly support is phenomenal as you know.

This feature is now in Cachly 2.0.2.
Let me also add that we are working on a much more powerful Filtering feature that I think you will be happy with. It will be super powerful and flexible, can't wait for everyone to see/use it!

Great suggestion. I have this on our feature list and will see how hard it would be to develop.

Having used Cachly for a few weeks to see how I like it (coming from Geosphere), the one thing that I find missing from the experience is something to display where I am facing without the full rotate map mode.  In that mode there is a little "fan" showing the direction, and I'd like to see that (or be able to turn it on) in all modes.  Otherwise I have to keep flipping back between the compass and the map, which is inconvenient given the number of times you have to do it.  I personally find the full map rotation to be disorienting in all apps (not just Cachly), so I like to have the map static when navigating.  thanks!

Nic, I may have misunderstood DavSteph42 but he/she did say after you click one on the cache which loads the last log info.

For example I see the last five logs for this cache. Now that they are loaded it would be nice to see them above the gecache code in the list.

Of course for offline caches you should be able to show them all.

I agree with that.  I didn't mean to kill TheGreenTroll's original suggestion though.

As another new Cachly user, coming from long term GeoSphere usage, there's a few things I used to use all the time in GeoSphere that I'm missing in Cachly, especially with Offline caches.
With GeoSphere, I was able to import my whole GSAK database (40,000+ caches) in to the app, and while it wouldn't show them all at once (limit was 8000), I was able to use filters on the offline lists to display subsets of caches (ie, just Unknowns, just those with Corrected Coordinates, just T5 caches, only caches within X distance, etc).  I can't seem to see any way of:
    - having this many caches in Cachly without it crashing when accessing a large list
    - filtering a list to show a certain subset of caches
    - hiding my Found caches if they're present in my list
    - the "List" of offline caches doesn't seem to reflect in any way my current distance from the caches
If any of the above can be done already and I'm just missing something, then I'd be grateful to learn how.
Thanks for otherwise what appears so far (only 1 day's usage, with some swapping back and forth to the old app) a great app!

I just started using Cachly.  One feature I've used elsewhere that I really really like it to different map defaults.  What I mean by that is one map default when showing the location of nearby caches, another for the actual cache navigation.  Obviously the user could set them the same.  I generally like to keep the nearby cache map on standard Google Map view, and the Navigate on hybrid map Google Map view.   With Cachly I have to constantly switch back and forth.
    Overall good first impressions though.

I do understand your approach. I'll admit I use Spark for personal email and the Swipes are customized there so mine aren't standard.
I did look at the standard mail app swipe. One difference I notice is that in the mail app all three functions unfold simultaneously making them all noticeable without a full swipe.
I did of course find the functionality after a while, but after seeing this post it reminded me of my struggle too.

I wanted to post a comment not related to Cachly itself but the forum. I've signed in to many different web forums and even administrate one. You've picked the best forum software I've seen. It's easy to search and easy to read and follow new posts on both computers and mobile devices. I like how it has the Cachly color theme too.

Bolling reacted to ciarmer in Bearing Indication
I've posted this as a question assuming the feature does not currently exist.
When viewing a "Live" or "Offline" list of caches, a mileage indicator is provided in the list for each cache. Is there a way to include (perhaps as an option), an indication of bearing from your location to the cache location? So, for each cache in the list, it would show, for example, 1.2 mi NE.
The same type of bearing indicator would be very helpful on the cache details page as well.

The green dot shows the list that is currently loaded into memory. This can help speed things up if you have a huge list and you want to navigate away and then return to it.

What's also really amazing is the level of customer support Nic gives to Cachly.  It's just great to see how he responds so quickly and then sometimes goes a step beyond.  One example is when a new user was confused about setting up an account.  Nic responded quickly with info about signing up at geocaching.com, but then he went a step further and made a pinned topic about it.
(I did do a cache run this weekend and didn't open my old standby app, Geosphere.  Cachly performed the job flawlessly).

I was playing around with this in V 2.0. I like the default as a decoded hint since it's hidden until selected anyway. But to actually encode a hint I had to turn the option on and off.   Whenever I go back to Settings the decode hint option shows as off even when it is on.  Not a big deal but I wanted to point it out.

Cachly 2.0 really is great. I'm looking forward to taking it on a cache run. One feature that's neat that I never even knew I wanted.....  the ability to see another users active caches instantly plotted in a map instead of in a list view like on the geocaching.com website.

I'm a longtime Geosphere user as well. I agree it can drain the battery quickly unless the GPS turned off. One big difference between Geosphere and Cahly though appears to be in the device Privacy Settings. Cachly has the "while using app" option under location services. Geosphere has "always".
I've made an almost 100% switch to Cachly. Perhaps with version 2.0 I'll complete that swith complete that switch.
