Cachly on macOS and syncing Pending logs.

frso80

Question

I'm sorry if this is a double post cause I've been thinking about this for a couple of years and I thought I already posted a feature request, but I didn't find it when i search the forum.

One thing that would really improve my workflow is being able to run Cachly on my M-series Mac and that pending geocache logs and travel bug logs would sync between all my devices.

Today I prefer to do all my log writing through Cachly cause it offers better functionality than writing my logs on geocaching.com or though iCaching. The big issue is that writing logs on my phone isn't that an great experience. So to be able to start a log out in the field geocaching and then when I get home I could get comfy by the computer finish writing the log would be awesome.

I think syncing other stuff too would be great. Example if I add an custom map on iPhone that map also would pop up on my iPad (and macOS if/when we get that), and Offline lists.

Give iPhone Mirroring a shot. I used it last weekend after coming home to finish logging. https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/control-your-iphone-from-your-mac-iph505911a40/ios

Another option is to create logs in Cachly and enable the Save as Draft option. This will upload to the Geocaching website where you can elaborate on your log before final submission. https://help.cachly.com/article/108-online-drafts

Thank you for your reply. Yeah when Apple announced the iPhone Mirroring feature I was thinking that this would be a workaround to be able to write logs in Cachly from my Mac. Sadly I within EU so we don't have that feature. :(

When it comes to save them as Draft and finish them of via geocaching.com that's not a option, like I wrote in my post, Cachly provides more functionality to log writing. :)
