barefootguru
I'm downloading my usual weekly pocket queries in 4.3.1 & 4.3.2 and receiving 'downloading paused' for 60 seconds once or twice per PQ. Each PQ is around 800 caches. This never appeared in previous versions… is it an intentional change?
Nic Hubbard
Nothing intentional. That error comes from the API when too many requests have been made. Are you downloading one right after another?
barefootguru
Yep, but that's what I've always done. Maybe you made them too fast for GS
rragan
Are PQs using the new API?
Nic Hubbard
PQs are now fetched 50 caches at a time rather than 200 since 200 was causing server timeouts for some users. Moving to the new PQ API will also require a max of 50 so the move was inevitable even though we are not using that method yet. barefootguru
rragan
So the more granular fetching could trigger request throttling as more requests are being made?

I wouldn't call it throttling, but the 30 API requests per 60 seconds could possibly be triggered depending on how fast your PQ is downloaded and how quickly you select another to download. ACME WildCachers
This sounds similar to an issue I've had. My typically weekly PQ is 1000 caches and I typically download it first thing on Friday morning before doing anything else that would use API calls. Two of the last three weeks I've gotten the pause banner at the end of the PQ download. I did not get it last week.
