I like it
Clear what each entry is, and consistent with icons on map.

If a map pin has a sad face (DNF), then as you zoom the (offline) map in & out, the point of the pin moves around — Cachly seems to be keeping the cache centered on the hole in the top of the pin rather than the point.
-
I like the idea of changing the DNF to a blue dot… I realise Cachly is using traffic-light colours, but I can never remember what shade of red represents what log.
-
I too would appreciate a download icon instead of an arrow… that screens looks similar enough to Offline Lists that I sometimes mistakenly tap a query. Then have to wait and delete the duplicate download.
-
I've needed to write a few long log entries (with line breaks) recently. If I switch to the Preview log tab, Cachly displays the middle of the log and you can't scroll up or down as expected.
e.g. barefootguru log for GC4JTJX. iPhone SE.

Ah, well spotted. I have that option turned off because I can't handle the main map being zoomed and moved out of my control.
But I'd expect looking at a COs subset of caches — not on the main map — would zoom and scroll automatically regardless… in the same way as first going into an offline list. Can't think of a reason not to?
-
When looking at what caches a user has hidden, the map view defaults to the middle of the North Atlantic… would be more useful if it defaulted to where the caches are :]
e.g.
- go onto GC6JZ1R
- tap on Hidden by RogerW1nz
- tap Hides

Hi, Cachly doesn't seem to display my hides on the Live map?
Never mind, I found it… My Hides were excluded under Search Options — assumed those options only affected searching, not the live map in general.

@Starsqual the reason for this change — and simplification — is that Cachly now downloads vector-based maps rather than 'tiles'. This means an entire state or country is the same size map download as a single caching area previously. So if your caching is in a single state/country you download once and forget about it.

Some COs think it's clever to have 2 multi/mystery caches at the same given coords on the map, meaning you can only see one pin.
It would be handy if Cachly could offset the 2 (or more) pins if they're at the same spot on the map… maybe by rotating the pin so the pointer was still at the same location.
-
It's not high on my list, but would be nice to see at least **bold** & *italic* Markdown displayed as bold & italic in log entries.
-
Cachly could display the radius if a letterbox has corrected coordinates then (same as mystery and multi)… does that work?
-
Running as a native iPad app — rather than 2× mode — has been in a few threads, but creating this separate feature request so it can be voted on.
Would be great if Cachly could take advantage of the large screen, including both rotations.
(And eventually split screen)

Saving offline didn't trigger the bug today. The other actions I regularly do are to insert the Owner Name keyword, and after submitting going back to other logs before completely backing out of the cache. I regularly switch between live caches and an offline list. Still working on finding a consistent trigger

It's not completely clear, but it sounds like having clues from the posted coords to the final is allowed… as long as you supply actual coords with the clues:
QuoteLetterbox-style clues may be used to guide seekers to the container, but only if the clues are accompanied by coordinates specific to the hide.

God knows how reviewers handle proximity for them.
Sounds like would be misleading for Cachly to both display and not display a radius, and probably best / less wrong to leave as is.

Letterboxes are not necessarily at the given location. A "true" letterbox usually requires following some set of instructions to find the final cache location. A letterbox hybrid can be set up either like a traditional geocache (where its hidden at the given location) or it can be set up like a traditional letterbox (where its NOT hidden at the given location). You can't really tell which way any given letterbox is hidden without reading the description.
All the letterbox caches down here are at the given coords, and from my Google (well, DuckDuckGo), that's always the case: you can go directly to the cache from the coords on geocaching.com, or from the clues provided on a letterboxing site.

Possibly related to saving the log entry offline.

Cachly doesn't display the radius around letterbox caches. I can understand not displaying the radius around the original coords of mysteries, etc., but aren't letterboxes always at the given location and subject to proximity rules?

Looks good thanks Nic. Yes, it started as half cable half funicular, and is now full funicular but retained the name
-
Just noticed our cable car tracks are missing (New Zealand): OSM shows them but not Cachly. This is halfway between 2 stations: S41 17.115 E174 46.109
-
I work around it by randomly tapping on 1 or 2 other caches, then it'll fix the incorrect one.

I haven't worked out an exact trigger, but Cachly sometimes duplicates the just logged cache to a nearby cache. It's something like:
- Go into a cache
- Log it
- Back out to map
- Tap next cache, and it will display the name from the just logged one. Sometimes it'll have a smiley too.

It makes sense to leave hint, cache notes, and attributes — in this example — grey, as there's no data.
I agree the coords & distance are hard to read, and the 'Hidden by' should probably be changed to match.
