Hi, the bug is back ;-) In the meantime the bug was fixed. However when I was geocaching last weekend I had exact the same bug. Thanks

I am not an expert, but here are my thoughts: The WhatsApp username is the mobile number. The mobile number is already linked to the Geocaching User. Perhaps it would be possible to link this. In IPHONE contacts it is also possible to add in the field "instant message" the number of WhatsApp. I also found this on the help page of WhatsApp: https://faq.whatsapp.com/iphone/how-to-link-to-whatsapp-from-a-different-app/?lang=en

Ok, thanks for feedback.

I used the new option Trackables Auto-visit. When I find the cache I save the log in cachly with the option „save as draft“ to send the log later to the draft page on the geocaching website. I realised that the trackable visit is not shown on the geocaching draft page. I have to click the visit button on the page once again. It seems that the „visit option“ will not be transferred to the draft page on geocaching. Thanks

Sometimes it happens that I do not find a cache. Then I use the option „show logs of friends“. Then I can click on the profile to contact my friend. In this situation I want to call him or send him a message. To send a photo of the location it is more practical to use a messenger like WhatsApp than an expansive MMS. Therefore I would appreciate to the option to chose an alternative Messenger.

Hey Nic, would it be possible to support additional messengers like WhatsApp? Right now, just SMS is supported. Thanks

barefootguru reacted to a question: PQ Download to a List

Well, this would be possible. However this additional option would simplify the process. An example: I have a PQ named „Home“. In this PQ I have all existing not found and not archived Caches within a radius of 20km. This PQ will be created once a week (or more often). Of course it would be possible to create a new list for the new PQ. But then I have to delete the old one, because I don’t want to have „old“ offline lists. Filtering the list would also be an option, but with the time many found and archived Caches would be part of the list. I would delete and create a new one. I think for a one time PQ it is easy to create a new list or filter the list. However, for a serial PQ ist would be easier to have the option to replace the list with a new PQ.

Hi, I would appreciate to add a function „delete list before download“ to the option menu of PQ download. Right now I have to navigate to the offline list to delete all Caches in the List before downloading the PQ. The background is, that if I do not delete the list first, all the „old“ and „found“ Caches are still in the list. I use the offline list to show me all not found Caches... Thanks Daniel

Hi, today was was geocaching and I found out the following behaviour of the app. 1. I choose a Multi Cache and click on map. Then I can see the cache and it’s waypoints. 2. Then I click on the traditional cache and click the button „log geocache“. The preferences are: „save as draft“ and „save“ 3. After saving the log, I switch back to the Multi Cache and the waypoints are not visible anymore. 4. To see the waypoints again I have to leave the Multi Cache completely and open again. It would be more easy to see see the waypoints directly switching back from the traditional cache. Thanks Daniel

Should offline lists and pending logs be user specific?
BAMBI11 replied to Nic Hubbard's topic in General Questions
Hi Nic, from my understanding some users have two nicknames / accounts. Perhaps they go Geocaching in a group or want to log the same Caches. Not everybody is using an iPhone and they want to log all together. Then it makes sense to have multiple users in Cachly at the same time. That means that all accounts are logged in Cachly. Then you can choose what you are doing with the accounts. There is another Geocaching app in the App Store that already is doing that. That makes sense. When you have to log out and log in with another account the user dates should not be accessible from the other user. So it is fine as it is at the moment. -
The Settings for the live map you can find here. Klick on the Little gearbeitet-wheel. For the offline list it is not possible at the Moment. It will be implemented in the future. But you can choose in PQ on GC.com to create PQ without your founds.

I would appreciate to have this feature for the online-profile-link, too. ;-)

Wow! This is a great feature. This did not work with my previous geocaching App;-) I already checked this feature with the official geocaching App and it shows the waypoints from Cachly. Great! However I can't find the waypoints on the geocaching website. Do you know where to find this?
-
Oh! I didn't know that. This is what I was looking for ;-) This helps a lot. Yes, a "Dip" list, where it will be possible to choose the trackables... Another thing I realized was, that if you Click on a waypoint the map shows just this single waypoint and don't show other waypoints in the list. How does Cachly manage the waypoints? Are the waypoints just saved in the App? Are the waypoints saved in the cloud? What happen with the waypoints I reinstall the App? Thanks, Daniel

I am using Cachly some weeks and I have some feature request. At the moment I am not using cachly for multi caches. Why? 1. Starting the navigation in cachly, the app shows just the actual cache on the map. It would be very helpful if Cachly would show the other caches around, too. When doing a multi-cache sometimes there are some other caches (traditionals or solves mysteries) on the way you can log in the meantime. So you don`t miss a cache and don't have to come back. 2. It would be very helpful to have an additional waypoint button on the map, because at the moment you always have to switch back in the cache view and to waypoints and after you created the waypoint you have to navigate back to the map. That is too complicated and is frustrating. 3. For multi-caches it is helpul to have an projection feature. In many cases you have to go for xxx meters in xxx degrees. 4. There should be an option of "automatic log" of trackables in the preferences menu. I want to log all my trackables as "visit" in each cache. At the moment I have to do this manually. Thanks
