I also noticed that I could copy all my existing photos (in matching GCxxxxx folders) from DropBox to iCloud drive and they are available in Cachly - great.

Yes! This makes it quick and easy for power users to move images into Cachly.

One additional thing that would be great: When I have an offline list of my finds on my phone, it would be great if I could filter this list by caches with personal photos.

This is one I had considered as well. Thanks!

  2. Here is a bit more information about 6.1 as we haven't had a chance to update the wiki: https://medium.com/@cachly/cachly-6-1-features-and-release-37be309d9f68

How do you activate/use proximity alert?

Proximity alert is a new button that shows up on the navigate to cache screen as well as on offline lists. You can tap it to see all the options and turn it on, or you can long press the button to quickly turn it on.

I presume images in personal notes are only accessible within Cachly — not stored at geocaching.com?

These are saved in iCloud drive and will be synced to your other devices and are accessible on those devices and on your computer by viewing them in iCloud Drive and viewing the Cachly folder. They are not saved on geocaching.com.

Let me know if you have any additional questions!

I log a cache and just save the entry (no sending to geocaching.com). Then I export the find to a text file.

    It ends up like this:
    GC8AV78,2020-09-21T09:46Z,Found it,"(null)"

    It should look like this:
    GC8AV78,2020-09-21T09:46Z,Found it," "

Have you tested on Cachly 6.1? This should have been fixed in our recent update.

It did dawn on me why the iPad wouldn't switch orientations while I was setting there fooling with it, it doesn't have a "real" compass, so won't change until you move a bit and it interpolates it...

Ah, yes. I am surprised that it works at all. It must be using the GPS course data.

Is there a way to use the watch as stand alone?

Yes, the watch app uses GPS/Location services from your watch, it it has GPS. Is yours at least a Series 3 watch?

Using Ipad in car noticed "course up" function changes every time I manually reorient the map, or go back to the description or compass. I ALWAYS want to use it in course up. Is there a way to lock that on ? I must hit that little button a hundred times a day if I am out LOL.. Frustrating...

There isn't a way to lock this mode, but it has been a requested feature. What map are you using? Going to the compass or descriptions should not take you out of this mode.

Seems as if when the maps app is open, the course up function fails in cachly..   Seems as if closing the maps app (running in background) fixed the issue... Just letting you know..

I wasn't able to replicate this. Let me know what map type you are using so I can try and replicate that on my devices.
