GaryB_CA
When I go to export my Pending Logs one of the choices is Google Keep. I would like to export to Google Keep but I have had no success actually getting the export to happen. I have the Google Keep app on my phone (I'm a long time Google Keep user) and also on my computer. When I tap the Google Keep icon a new screen opens and confirms my Account with my gmail address. There is a line labeled "Label" and if I touch that are a list of labels show up. When I select one of the presented labels That matches the label in Google Keep and tap save but nothing happens. Any idea how I should proceed?
Nic Hubbard
I had never heard of Google Keep before. So you are just wanting to send the text of your Pending Logs .txt file to Google Keep? If so, maybe just try using the "Copy" option in the iOS dialog and then past that into Google Keep.
GaryB_CA
Well I find that interesting that had never heard of Google Keep but it shows up in Cachly. Must be an IOS thing. So right after I tap onto "Export .txt File" I get this dialog that lists my choices as shown in the attached screenprint. I tried tapping on Copy an then went to the Google Keep app and tried to past the Export.txt File the paste buffer was empty. Any suggestions? Nic Hubbard
iOS automatically adds apps to that list. I tested with Google keep. The only way to do this is to first copy the text, then export again and past into the Google Keep dialog.
GaryB_CA
So can you tell me how to copy the Export.txt file? I've never seen the actual body of the text file in Cachly. I have seen the actual file show up in my email or Dropbox. That is what I'm missing.
Nic Hubbard
Tap export .txt file. Choose copy from the menu Tap export .txt file again. Choose Google Keep Paste the text into the dialog What is your use case for this? The .txt file format is specific for uploading to geocaching.com and GSAK. GaryB_CA
My use case: I prefer to have the Export.txt file to upload my daily finds to my drafts on Geocaching.com. I do a fair amount of my caching outside of cell phone reception. I'm not really comfortable with trying to build a finished log on a phone as most of my logs not short. Thanks for steps, It actually worked in that I found it in Keep but not where I expected. However I can work around that oddity.
