  1. Thanks. Often there is more to the story. It may be that the user is restoring the coordinates to the original value once he logged it as found. If you do add this as a feature, I would like to see it as a selectable option so the user can choose to show the icon at the corrected coordinates (my preference).
  2. The user says he's on the 4.1 release (not beta). I've looked through the various settings options and don't see an option to return a corrected coordinate cache to the original location once logged as found.
  3. Curious if this feature was added. A person on the Facebook group indicated his found caches with corrected coordinates now return to the original coordinates once the cache is logged as found. Personally, I prefer the cache location to remain at the corrected coordinates once found. If I want to look at the Geo-art for found caches, I will look at it on the Geocaching ap or website.
  4. He has around 2700 caches. My list is around 4500, and I've never had a problem (i'm using a 6S) This has been an on-going thing for him.
  5. My friend uses cachly and has a problem updating offline lists. He selects the list, selects the 3 dots in the top right, selects Update All Caches, the Full Cache Data. He gets he pop-up window with updating caches and the spinning when, then within a few seconds goes to the 60-second countdown window. This can happen for hours. I think he's running an iPhone 4 or 4S. Any thought? Thanks
  6. I suspect this may be a GC API issue, but wanted to ask here. When using a live search on Cachly I don't see certain caches that have corrected coordinates until I expand the search area to encompass the location of the caches original coordinates, then the cache shows up in the corrected coordinate location (with the red triangle icon). As a connected question, when searching an area that is the original coordinate location of a corrected coordinate cache, the map will suddenly expand and show the corrected coordinate cache in the corrected location. The first item is the one that caused a bit of grief on the weekend. I was doing a live search of an area that I was sure had a corrected coordinate cache and didn't see it. It wasn't until sometime later that I did a new search and expanded the search are cover the original location that I then saw my cache. Thanks again for a great app.
  7. I had exactly the same thing after 3.1 update. Also some old offline lists showed back up. Nic gave an explanation of it in this thread:
  8. Someone with far more knowledge than I will chime in, but as a suggestion, you can go the the geocaching website and view it there. The Geocaching website (and the app) moves the cache back to the original coordinates once found.
  9. First, thank you Nic for all your efforts on Cachly. It's a great product and I love using it. It looks like the version 3.1 did some database housecleaning for me. I had a phantom log that kept showing as a red 1 on the More tab, but would go away when I opened the More tab. It was an old log that I had from back in October that I had saved on Cachly, but ended up logging on the GC website. I deleted it, but the alert persisted. The new install seemed to revive it and I was able to delete it. There were also some old offline lists that came back again. I was able to delete them. Neither of these are issues, but thought you might like the feedback. Again, thanks for a great app.
  10. I just did a test and it looks like Cachly is using nautical miles. 1 mile = 6076 feet. Try your .47 mile projection at .4084 nautical mile.
  11. A little late, but I use the logs tab often. Mainly for reasons previously mentioned. It's a great feature. Thanks
  12. I found a work around that seems easy to use. If i accidentally open the keyboard when loading caches, I found if I touch on the settings wheel to the right of the search bar, then press "Done" (top right) when the setting panel opens, the keyboard closes and doesn't effect the state of map so caches keep loading when I press the refresh arrow at the top right.
  13. Thanks Nick. I have done several tests and it seems to be fixed. I'm now getting results. Thanks for your efforts. It is very much appreciated.
  14. Occasionally I accidentally open the keyboard when refreshing/loading caches when my fat finger accidentally touches the search bar. If I move the map, it will close the keyboard, but then my refresh/load starts from scratch. Is there an easy way to close the keyboard if opened accidentally? Thanks
  15. Thanks for that. It's a bit confusing as that selection isn't under the Project Coordinates section, or on the Project coordinates page. When would you use that preset other than projecting a coordinate? it would be nice to have the selection for current or geocache location as a click box on the page that you enter the bearing and distance.
  16. I was working on a mystery cache and was at an intermediary stage (not at the cache posted coordinates) and I had to project a distance/bearing to the final stage. In Cachly I had the cache page up, went to waypoints, clicked the add icon, gave it a name, scrolled to the bottom and selected project coordinates. I entered 3100 meters and the bearing, clicked save. I then opened that waypoint and it said I was about 6300 meters (6.3 km) away. Did this project from the caches published coordinates? Is this normal? How can I project from my present position? Thanks
  17. Basically no search of any dates before Feb 2013 shows any results. Here are some examples: Search dates June 2, 2008 to June 30, 2008 from N48 27.058 W123 22.461 shows no results. A PQ shows GC1DJBM published June 29, 2008 located 3.9 km from my location. Search dates July 1, 2010 to July 28, 2010 from N48 27.058 W123 22.461 shows no results. A PQ shows GC28QMN published on July 22, 2010 located 8 KM from my location. Search dates May 1, 2009 to May 29, 2009 from N48 27.058 W123 22.461 shows no results. A PQ shows GC1RC3F published May 16, 2009 located 9.9 km from my location and GC1Q4D0 published May 1, 2009 located 6 km from my location. Search dates March 1, 2011 to March 29, 2011 from N48 27.058 W123 22.461 shows no results. A PQ shows GC2QDGQ published March 11, 2011 located 1.8 km from my location.
  18. it doesn't seem to mater where I do my search from, but here's my home coordinates, 48° 29.764'N 123° 27.848'W I just did a live search from here and set the search dates from Jan 16, 2013 to Feb 14, 2013 and only one cache was returned. GC45WXG hidden Feb 12/13 and published Feb 14/13. It didn't show GC47FVF published on Feb 12, 2013 only 5 miles from my house (or any of these others, all within date range an all within about 7-miles: GC473T6, GC472R7, GC46Z96, GC46R84, GC46K7G, GC43AN7 ).
  19. Thanks. looking forward to 3.1. Sounds like it's got lots of great new features.
  20. I entered a long set of notes/coordinates for a multi in cache notes today and accidentally tapped the back arrow instead of the save button. The notes were lost. It would be nice if it promoted you to save if you entered notes, and tried to exit without saving. Thanks
  21. FYI: For a list of applications that won't run under IOS 11, go to Settings, General, About, Applications. it will list all the ones that are not 64-bit and won't run in IOS 11
  22. Thanks. It seems that any search I do will only return results if the published date was after Feb 12/2013. If I do a Cachly search with a Start date of Jan 17, 2013 and an End date of Feb 13, 2013, the only results I get are from caches published on Feb 13, 2013. If I make the end date Feb 12, 2012, I get no results from any location I search. There seems to be a cut-off of Feb 13, 2013 Also, not sure how hidden date and published date comes into play here. It seams that PQ's use the Hidden date and Cachly uses the Published date. When working on the Jasmer challenge, I believe that uses the hidden date. 2 Examples below: PQ: This cache came up in a PQ seach of March 1 to March 31 of 2016. It was placed March 31, 2016 and Published June 23/16: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC6EJ78_if-trees-could-talk-3 Cachly: A Cachly search of Jan 17, 2013 to an end date of Feb 13, 2013 shows this cache that was placed Dec 30, 2012 and published on Feb 13, 2013: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC43HM7_trains-planes-and-automobiles-automobiles
  23. I'm doing a live search of a location that has lots of caches. I've reset my search filters, entered a start and end date in 2008 (28 days apart), select done and it comes back as no caches found. My example is GC1AFYG placed March 23, 2008. I see the cache without filters (live search), but when I set start on March 2, 2008 and end of March 29, 2008, the result is no caches found. I changed my search filter to a different year (keeping it at March 2-29), 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013 all gave results, but any year I tried from 2012 and earlier did not. What an I doing wrong? I can post screen shots as needed.
  24. Great! Thanks. PS: I signed up another convert. I've been very impressed with Cachly and have been spreading the word. Keep up the great work Nic.
  25. On the Cachly app there is a "logs" icon on the bottom ribbon. From there I can look at old logs and by clicking on a log, can bring up the cache. My question is: Can I then do a new search based on that cache location? I see I can navigate to the cache, but I don't see that I can exit the cache to the map so I can start a search from the GZ of that cache. Thanks.
