  1. I'm running into a couple of issues when exporting an offline list from Cachly v3.0.2 (4) and importing into GSAK and directly onto my GPSr. First off, I get this GSAK warning dialog (see attached image) that says the GPX file is in an old format and does not contain any attributes. Second, I get a ton of errors saying (see attached image): The GPX file exported from Cachly appears to contain attributes, but also contains a bunch of empty <wpt> tags, one for every cache. For example: <wpt lat="48.824467" lon="-123.279915"> <time>2005-04-08T17:00:00-07:00</time> <name>GCNDQ2</name> <desc>Baby Back Ribs by land-air-sea, Traditional Cache (1.5/1.0)</desc> <url>http://coord.info/GCNDQ2</url> <urlname>Baby Back Ribs</urlname> <sym>Geocache</sym> <type>Geocache|Traditional Cache</type> <gsak:wptExtension xmlns:gsak="http://www.gsak.net/xmlv1/5"> <gsak:Code>GCNDQ2</gsak:Code> <gsak:IsPremium>false</gsak:IsPremium> <gsak:FavPoints>2</gsak:FavPoints> <gsak:UserFlag>false</gsak:UserFlag> </gsak:wptExtension> <groundspeak:cache xmlns:groundspeak="http://www.groundspeak.com/cache/1/0" id="227699" available="True" archived="False"> <groundspeak:name>Baby Back Ribs</groundspeak:name> <groundspeak:placed_by>land-air-sea</groundspeak:placed_by> <groundspeak:owner id="52101">land-air-sea</groundspeak:owner> <groundspeak:type>Traditional Cache</groundspeak:type> <groundspeak:container>Small</groundspeak:container> <groundspeak:attributes> <groundspeak:attribute id="1" inc="1">Dogs</groundspeak:attribute> <groundspeak:attribute id="7" inc="1">Takes less than an hour</groundspeak:attribute> <groundspeak:attribute id="6" inc="1">Recommended for kids</groundspeak:attribute> <groundspeak:attribute id="13" inc="1">Available at all times</groundspeak:attribute> <groundspeak:attribute id="15" inc="1">Available during winter</groundspeak:attribute> <groundspeak:attribute id="32" inc="1">Bicycles</groundspeak:attribute> </groundspeak:attributes> <groundspeak:difficulty>1.5</groundspeak:difficulty> <groundspeak:terrain>1.0</groundspeak:terrain> <groundspeak:country>Canada</groundspeak:country> <groundspeak:state>British Columbia</groundspeak:state> <groundspeak:short_description html="False">Nice log strewn beach to explore at lower tides.</groundspeak:short_description> <groundspeak:long_description html="False">This is a small bay to explore via boat or on foot. This occasionally makes is difficult to actually select a geocache from the map view on my Oregon 450, as the waypoint is often selected first. After multiple attempts, I can usually get the cache selected. Not a show stopper, but annoying none the less.
  2. I uploaded a series of caches from dropbox exported from GSAK. All the data was there I was able to find caches when off line. Cachly worked just fine, save the logs as pending when I was off line while using the off line mode. When back in communication with the world, these pending logs would not upload to Ground Speak. I get an Geocaching not found error using this offline data. Cachly worked just fine when on line and off line as a source of the cache data, off line "residual" caches were displayed and I was able to log them and save them as pending and then pending log data uploaded just fine after being out of cell range. Why am I having issues uploading pending logs from the "pending geocaching log" section in the More section? Again these caches that won't upload came from Dropbox via GSAK. I got to say I really enjoy this app, except for this little issue. Thank you don
  3. Hi from Switzerland I'm a very newbie on cachly (downloaded just yesterday), but I'm a experienced user of (as many others) geosphere app (I used and love(d) it for many many years... and I'm still using it, because I didn't find another cool app yet). With cachly I'm not yet experienced... so that's way I read some posts here in the forum and learned a lot. I love in Cachly, the option for live view... in Switzerland we do have a good coverage of 3G/4G connection all over, but some parts are not well covered because of the mountains and I want to have all my notes and additional remarks and waypoints generated in GSAK with me. So, I tried to import a GPX file on my iphone 7+ (256gb) generated with GSAK of all my Swiss caches (as I'm used for geoshpere) via itunes. I then tried to import the file ( size 393 mb / around 27000 caches to cachly. I tried it several times, but the file (with or without loading photos), stopps around 21000 caches and the app craches. It can't be a question of not having enough storage on my iphone, cause it's only 3 weeks old and not much on my new phone. There was a request to change the colors of the flags. I really would appreciate to have this option... All my solved mysteries (and their notes and waypoints) have their final coords in an other (mine is orange) color. So, when I'm doing a cache tour (for example a multi cache) I realise (because of the "eye catcher"orange color ) , there is a solved mystery near.... but that means, that I can see other caches around me, when I'm doing a cache... (another topic in the forum)... It seems, that I have to wait some more time, until I will completely quit with geosphere... but in the mean time, I will learn with cachly and hope for some changements soon here. When will the next release be on? thanks for your work and greetings gcchmaus_i
  4. New Cachly user and Geosphere refugee here. I used Cachly on the trail for the first time today, and encountered problems when I tried to use "export GSAK Note". It would only work with the email option. Exporting to Dropbox or OneDrive both failed. Dropbox gave an error, OneDrive just hung there, but I could cancel out of it. I'm using an iPhone 6 with iOS 10.2 and Cachly 2.0.1.
  5. I have exported my pending logs using "Export GSAK Note". I email that TXT file. I have tried to read that into GSAK using File/Notes/Import. I'm getting a "Lines Read: 1 Matched: 0" message. I've attempted to set the "Match Incoming Code" to GSAK. Ultimately, what I'm trying to do is import the pending logs into GSAK so that GSAK modifies the "found" status of these caches. I believe that even if the "Notes" function was working, it wouldn't modify the "found" status. Is there a possibility of being able to export a GPX file from these pending logs? In summary, two questions - I'm not sure why I'm having difficulty having GSAK read the incoming "Notes" and how can I import these pending logs as a GPX file that will actually modify the "Found" status within GSAK?
  6. I'm a long time user of GSAK and the iGeoKnife iPhone app (before Apple discontinued the app). Since then, I have sorely missed an awesome feature that allowed me to export unsent cache logs to a TXT file. This TXT file could then be emailed from the app as an attachment and then imported into GSAK. This was a simple TXT file that basically contained the GC Code, Log Type, Date/Time stamp, and the cache log text/message. It was a comma separated TXT, which I'm sure I could get the exact file layout if needed. The file is then imported into GSAK to create multiple cache logs that could be uploaded/published to geocaching.com all at once. It was a great feature for logging offline lists en masse, logging a power trail, or logs for caches when there is no good cell service. iGeoKnife had a log setup option where I could enter and save my email and then create/send the file, or delete/reset the existing log so you can start over. The TXT file would then be an email attachment (or you could copy/move it over to your pc when the phone was hooked up to iTunes) I thought that the TXT could be populated using the cache log information in Cachly when the Send Log Now switch is off and the log not sent. Under the More Tab, you could have the TXT Log file setup as an option there where users could enter their email address and save, create the file based on the condition above, or reset/delete the existing TXT file and a new, empty one created. Unless reset, the existing TXT log would simply append itself with any new cache logs that have not yet been sent from the app. I think that this would be an awesome feature that would replace the iGeoKnife app that is no longer available, and reconnect current GSAK users back with a compatible iPhone app. --Razz007
