The event that won't die is:  GC6JKJ9

    Using Cachly 1.1.7 (1) on a 5s running iOS 9.3.4

Ah ok, I didn't see you mention before that this was an archived cache. Currently Cachly doesn't hide these types of caches. I will add a new search option to hide these in 2.0. Thanks for helping with this!

Just bought an iPhone and thinking about getting cachly. The most important for me in a cache app are the maps. Which offline maps are supported and can you also navigate to a cach using a offline map?

Cachly provides the following map layers:

    • Apple Maps
    • Google Maps
    • Ordnance Survey (UK)
    • Open Street Map
    • Open Cycle Map
    • Thunder Forest Landscape
    • Thunder Forest Outdoors
    • ARC GIS Satellite
    • ARC GIS Topo

Cachly had offline map tile downloads available. But in our upcoming 2.0 version we will be releasing Open Street offline vector maps, which will allow you to download entire states and countries offline in very small file sizes. (WA State is only 58 MB)

Yes, you can navigate to a cache using offline maps.

  3. When posting a support question about Cachly please help us by providing the following:

    • Cachly version number
    • iOS version
    • Device that you are using
    • Screen that issue is happening on and if you can replicate it
    • If you are a Regular or Premium user of geocaching.com
    • GC code if your question is about a specific cache

This is weird.  An archived event (from June) shows up in Cachly and won't go away.  It's on my phone and my iPad, so I don't think it's localized to one device.  I can put it on an ignore list for a workaround, but it shouldn't be there.  I have no lists or PQ's that contain the event, so I'm perplexed.

I have seen this happen before, and I am convinced it is a geocaching.com API issue.

  5. I'm a newer purchaser and haven't yet put the app through many days of use but I really enjoy what it offers. The main reason I looked for an app was the display of solved puzzle caches in the gc.com free app didn't show with corrected coords which made it useless to use the map page in locating solved caches.

In my initial use finding just a couple of caches, I've noticed 2 items for consideration

    1) When launching a cache on geocaching.com (... -> View on geoaching.com) , Cachly currently launches in an internal browser. Each time it launches, you need to log in, assuming you want to do something as an authenticated user. Is it possibly to launch an external browser (I use Chrome) as it would remember me as a logged in user. Or maybe if using the internal browser that it persist the necessary gc.com cookie?

    2) The photos feature on a cache is great but unlike similar links to Hint, Trackables, etc if there are no Photos, the link is active and you click to see there are no photos to display. Can the app detect there are no photos and disable the option to click through like with no hint, no trackables, etc?

As a side note unrelated to the app, the forums here seem to no longer show replies/views for any posts started in late July. You can see this on http://www.cach.ly/support/index.php?/forum/3-feature-requests/looking at the top posts in the forum where it shows 0/0 for replied and views.

    Many thanks!

    Thanks for trying Cachly!

    1. The internal browser issue is something I will fix in the next update. Thanks for pointing that out!

    2. For the photos, we don't receive the number of photos until we make a call to that API. So unfortunately this isn't possible.

Thanks for these questions, and I will look into that forum issue!

  6. Is there a way to enter coordinates directly into the app?  For example, if searching for a multi cache, you've found the initial location and then determine the coordinates that take you to the actual cache location and need to enter them in in order to search for it.

Absolutely. This is what waypoints are for, and you can set it as a Corrected Coordinate so that the map pin will move to the final location if you want. When you are on the cache details screen, tap the ... button and create a new waypoint. Then, just enter in the coordinates, and save it. Then you will be able to see this on the navigation map for that cache and choose to set it as the target for navigation.

  7. I problem is likely that our tile provider only creates level 17 tiles when they are requested. So, often if someone has not downloaded that area before, those higher level zoom tiles will not be available, which I realize is a frustrating problem.

We are getting close to releasing OSM vector maps which go to zoom level 21 and will fix this issue.

  8. Two thing you could do to make this easier:

First, when tapping on a map pin or seeing a cache in the list view, Multi's will also have an icon with two containers next to each other. Traditions only have one larger container in the icon. Next, you can tap the gear icon on the right side of the search field. This will allow you to remove Multi's from your search, or filter the search in a different way. This way you could remove Multi's altogether if you would like.

    Does this help?

  9. They seem to be working with some of the caches. But after I download all tiles, they seem to work zoomed out, but when I try to zoom in, it goes black. As though there is no tiles for that location.

Can you let me know what the location is so I can give it a test?

  10. Hello!

I have got the same problem. I downloaded the Cachly-apps in to my iPhone 6S. (iOs 9.3.3). When I try to log in with Facebook (as always) and I give my FB-password it asks who can see my posts. I answered that my family. After that it doesn´t go forward because there is no buttons NOT NOW / OK. I have turned off my phone many times and I have canceled the Apps and loaded again. Nothing works. What is wrong?

Can you try creating a geocaching.com account instead of using Facebook? It seems there might be some issues with geocaching.com and Facebook that is affecting Cachly.

  11. Additional question: Am I right that you cannot see personal notes in the app, only update them.

No, you can see them. Just tap the ... button and go to "Add Cache Note". If there is already one it will say "Update Cache Note".

  12. Thanks Chris. The map callout has been redesigned and we are going to be implementing this design very soon. It will include distance, as well as favorites, trackables, etc.

For the navigate map, I think this would make a nice Setting that could be turned on and off. Will add it to our feature list!
