This is something that I have on my list and hope to get it added to a future version. Thanks!

Don't know if my title is right, but I've been using Cachly for a while now (finally decided to move from Looking4Cache Pro) and for the most parts I like Cachly better.
One thing i really really miss from Looking4Cache is that when I set different modes like tracking my movement, tracking my movement with my direction of travel being up etc it will be "locked". In Cachly you just need to touch the screen and the current mode resets to not track. This often happens when I'm trying to zoom in/out or just when I unintentionally touches the screen.
I like the fact that I can move around (with my finger) on the map and it resets back to my location after just a second or two.
In my opinion it would be nice if it was possible to lock the different modes for example if you long press the icon it would lock the current mode until you long press it again.
What do you think about that idea?

This is iOS killing Cachly in the background because it wants more memory for other apps. In Settings you can use the History option to view that previous cache.
There are ways to do this and we are working to have this in a future version.

Thanks, I can replicate this. It seems this is a new iOS 13 specific bug. Testing some of our other devices, pre-iOS 13 do not have the issue. I will get this bug logged.

Thanks, looks like an issue that one of our beta testers reported as well. We will get this fixed Thanks!

    Howdy Nic and all,
I've got another feature request you might want to add to the list I've been thinking about for awhile: a measure distance tool. I've seen this done (quite nicely in fact) in other apps, so I know it's certainly possible. Basically, it would be a simple map "ruler" of sorts: tap a button, and drag your finger to measure the map distance. Bonus points for having it "snap" to cache pins if that finger drag is close enough (again, I've seen this done). It would make planning more complex caching runs so much easier!
    Thanks! :-)

I guess it would be handy but when I get stuck I do these things:
     1) Read the description again and then the hint
    2) read earlier logs for insights. During this process, I note any friends I might want to contact.
    3) PAF and often, I spot it just about when they answer
    4) Declare loudly to the cache "I'm leaving now", walk away but return for one last look - funny how this sometimes works

I do this fairly frequently. Make an empty list. Copy your full list to it. In the copy filter, for example, Has Corrected Coordinates=Yes. In the original, filter Has Corrected Coordinates=No.  Then in the copy, choose action Delete Filtered Caches. In the original list do the same action. You have now split the original list into two, the original with Corrected Coords and a copy without them.

I have tested over 50k caches in a list, but there is no hardcoded limit.

Btwchen reacted to CanUSeeIT in Show distant caches' waypoints on the map
I've always wanted to be able to see the waypoints that belong to another (possibly distant) cache on the map, when I'm looking at the area the waypoint is in, not just when I'm looking at that cache.
Here's an example. There's a cache in my area that has it's published coordinates "downtown", but it has published waypoints scattered all over the county, many miles apart. Last weekend I was caching in a park that had one of the waypoints, but of course I couldn't see it. I missed a TCO (Tree Climbing Opportunity).
Ultimately, I'd like to be able to say to the map "show me all the geocaching stuff in this park, caches and waypoints". Of course, this should include published waypoints as well as "user waypoints" I've added (while working on a large multi, for example)
I realize this would take a lot of churning through data to achieve, so I was thinking there could be a list I could designate as one that would include the "distant caches" I'd always want to see in this view.
This feature would make my geocaching life complete.

Better handling of multi caches and their waypoints is my most wanted feature. Your suggestions would be a dream come true

I dithered on my opinions on this one earlier. Having hiked for a 54 stage multi yesterday, I keenly felt the inability to spot other caches along the way to the next waypoint. Overall map view did not show the next waypoint of the multi and what opportunities might lie along the way. Getting back to the original multi to plot the current waypoint after diverting to find a nearby cache was not easy.
I think what would have served is
a setting on global map view to you show all waypoints a way to highlight a waypoint so I could spot the currently sought one quickly in map view with context about what was nearby on the way to it. This suggests waypoints could have a small set of associated data like highlight and a note field to record info for multi step field puzzles Better coupling of a displayed Waypoint to its cache. E.g. Option on Waypoint press to open the waypoints screen of the parent to see it and other waypoints. I should be able to get from a waypoint to the parent Cache to do things like see the description, hint, etc. This becomes more important with all waypoints shown on map as it also helps to determine the cache the WP belongs to.  Sorry if this wandered off off into a longish list of Waypoint features but each step seemed to open up further needs.

I have seen some other apps that show all the waypoints, and show connecting lines from the waypoints to the geocache that they belong to. This is fairly handy when a geocache lists a couple of steps or trail heads. It helps to determine which cache the markers on the map belong to.

I vote for having the option to turn on or off all additional waypoints on the map. No cache selection required. This way I can see all the trailheads, parking, stages of multis, etc. regardless of what cache they are for.

@barefootguru I understand how the My Finds PQ works. My question was about whether updating all caches in that offline list would update the logs in such a way that my own would no longer be there if there were many logs posted after mine.
I had time to test it out tonight, and here's what I found in case anyone else is curious. I loading the My Finds GPX into an offline list. After that initial import, none of the caches had cache notes, but they did have just my log as expected. Updating all caches using basic data was enough to pull down cache notes, last found date, add the red heart on favorited caches, add the corrected coord indicator (even though the coords were already corrected), and maybe a few other minor things. My logs were still visible. Updating all caches using full data pulled the most recent logs but still kept mine even if it was significantly older than the new ones being added. So this does seem like a good compromise to keep a record of both your own public logs and your cache notes.

Recanting my comment. I really would appreciate having my log on a cache kept in the local DB. I realize it is not on the server but having it there is invaluable when you get a Phone A Friend plea for help. The log can trigger key memories. I would only put detailed info about the hide and container into a cache note lest I create a spoiler log. I only do that for some noteworthy ones though. That's when the log is handy.

Btwchen reacted to two bison in Offline lists questions
1] Is to possible to have more than one, i.e., several, Offline List active at the same time? Sometimes, when I'm caching I will be looking for caches in, e.g. "DT-Davis" but caching very near it's border with "DT-Sacramento." It would be useful to be able to have them both active as had been the case in the days of Geosphere.
2] After updating my Offline List information on GSAK I want to be able to upload the caches to the appropriate Offline List. Is there a way to empty the appropriate list or must I delete the list and it's title and add a new list with the old title before uploading? I'm sure you, Nick, are tired of hearing this but this was possible in Geosphere. I do appreciate that Cachly was already available when Geosphere bit the dust and am slowly getting up to speed. It's that old dog ... new trick problem rearing it's ugly head once again.

I put key reminder info into the cache note which can be more explicit than a log entry. It is always visible without searching. If I really need the log, open in Geocaching.com and scroll back until I find it.

I believe the ability to have multiple offline lists selected at once is in the plans. The other side of that coin is needed.
The ability during "Add to Offline List" to select multiple offline lists to add a cache to. For example, a solved puzzle might go on the solved list and also on the East Bay list to make it show up when I'm caching in that area and on a third list if it has a DT combo I need for my grid.
Adding to multiple lists and using multiple lists are independent features and could be implemented independently.

iOS does have a built in magnifying glass for the screen, which works in every app including Cachly.

I like that Idea: I would like to have a switch on/off button for additional waypoints. Sometimes while hiking an area you come by stages of a Multicache and may only find out later, that you had been on the exactly spot just an hour ago to missed the question to an answer, because only the Traditionals were shown.

There just isn't a way to do this using the API that we are provided.  In 3.1 you will be able to filter your logs by log type, this will hopefully help a bit.
Pull down on the logs screen to load more from the sever.

Sorry, realized it is in 3.1. Been using that version too long.
    No there is not.
Correct. Cachly is a portrait only app.
Hints are just plain text, so they don't need the additional options.
