I think so. I need to write some more clarifying this.

Log Defaults are not the same as Text Templates. Log Defaults are used to set defaults when logging. E.g. if you set Found It then that will always be the default when you are creating a log.
Setting the checkmark/default inserts the text into a log message regardless of the log type. If you don't use a checkmark/default then text templates will only be inserted based on if you set a log type for that template, or you insert them manually into a message by choosing the ... menu or long press to get the context menu.
    Bug.

Text Templates with log type are used to automatically insert that template into a newly created log IF that log type matches.
    Does this explain?

That was a typo. There were going to be more but I ran out of examples. Never heard of an Oxford comma until now

Is there a way a regular user can see the date & time for their logged caches?
Is GC still screwed up with sometimes passing dates in local time and sometimes not?
They REALLY stink with consistently handling date/time/time zones

I am monitoring the FB page and this site to see if there are questions that cannot be answered with a link to the wiki. If not it could indicate an edit is appropriate.
Also I am thinking of adding new functions that are in the beta as remarks. This means when the next version is released a quick edit will mean the wiki is up to date.

I have been adding internal and external (geocaching.com) links to a number of pages to assist with navigation.

The Wiki reorganization is done. Feel free to dive in and add more material or fix what needs fixing.
This link will show all existing pages in the wiki. Some are likely orphans and no longer needed.

I have written the whole of this section this evening. Look over it and provide feedback (or edit typos, bad grammar, etc.). I tried to cover the experience as it would be seen leading a newbie through the process.

Editorial note: I didn't realize how painful geocaching.com's limit of 3 caches a day could be until I randomly picked one, loaded the full details and discovered it had 5 DNF's in a row. One cache load wasted on one I'm not likely to find. Sigh!

I put together a simple "Table of Contents" for a modified possible structure for the document. It reflects the top few heading levels. Most of the pages currently stay the same but some material is moved around. Is this better, worse, .... Suggestions and feedback.

From a practical point if view it might be better to save you logs while out caching and when you get home go to the list in Pending Logs and look at each log again before submitting.
I find that useful as I find I want to edit the message on a few caches, add some pictures and let my TBS visit a cache or two once I get home and have more time to consider the logs

Hey. We speak UK English in South Africa. :-)
My spell check will not pick up the non  US spelling so forgive me if I miss a few.

I would just follow what Wikipedia would do. Which I think would be to not duplicate information but to link to it from other parts of the site.

No, this isn't currently possible. You can though tap the Original Coordinate waypoint and you can navigate to that.

    This is painfully slow.
I am rewriting the entire interface and background downloading for updating caches. This will be in the next beta.
I tested updating 1,000 full caches and got the following:
    Basic Update: 3.8 seconds
    Full Update: 39.8 seconds
It has been a while since I revisited the old code that is currently downloading/updating caches so it was time for a rewrite.

Once you have the final coordinates, add them as a waypoint and tap the Is Corrected Coordinate button. Save the waypoint. There will now be a red triangle on top of the cache icon so you can spot it. However, in Live view, the Geocaching.com API only returns caches based on published coordinates. You will still see the red triangle but only if the published Coords land in your search area. The displayed position will reflect the solved location. Offline lists always show the final Coords. I keep an offline list named "Solved" where I save all solved mystery caches. I can examine it and see what is in my Tour area easily.

Just tap the current location button, and continue taping it to cycle through the various follow modes, one of which will rotate the map for you.

ChrisDen reacted to AnyMules in MYSTERY - CHECKER - FEATURE REQUEST
A third party developer doesn't have access to the Groundspeak databases to be able to check that the entered coordinate is correct for any of the existing caches.  If you could just make an API call to get the final location of a cache, then puzzles wouldn't be much of a challenge at all.
For any new caches, having cachly being the only way to check a coordinate restricts too much of the population of cachers (all those that don't have an Apple device), so there wouldn't be any point in doing this either and excluding the majority of the geocaching community.
With many checkers already in existence (Geochecker, Geocheck, Certitude, or Groundspeak's own one), there are plenty of existing checkers for a CO to chose from, and not a lot of point in @Nic Hubbard spending time developing yet another one, taking his time away from fixing other more important things with the app which benefit a greater proportion of the Cachly users.
