Bolling reacted to Nic Hubbard in Easy mark locations
Yes. I will add a feature where you can tap the current location and create a waypoint from that.

Bolling reacted to rragan in Easy mark locations
When I'm navigating through the bush, I really want to capture waymarks so I can find my way back. I want it quick and easy.
How about a long press on the coordinates at the bottom of the Compass screen? This would prompt for a name and offer action to save it as a new Location or as a User Waypoint.

I'll add a +1 to this request - it would be good when you open an offline list for it to automatically show your current location as the centrepoint. I use the offline mode for almost 100% of my caching with the app, so when I open my main list, I'd love it to be showing me the caches around where i currently am.

Already used it a number of times. Works like a dream.
Thanks Nic

Bolling reacted to BethKatzPA in Show all stages of caches in an area
I'm caching in a valley that has multiple multi-stage caches. I've found them all but would like to hike the area again and perhaps add a cache of my own. I'd like to be able to look at the overview map with radius circles and see all of the stages. Now, if I display corrected coordinates, the first stage doesn't show.
In addition, I'd like to be able to have a toggle to show both posted and corrected coordinates. This would let me see geo-art as art as well as searchable containers. That could be an overall setting or an individual cache setting.

How can Cachly be a mystery checker?

Bolling got a reaction from ChrisDen in Best workflow for 5,000 offline caches
Ok Nic said it should be the "Date Downloaded" filter.
So, import PQs to update caches. Filter on Date Downloaded and set prior to date of PQ import. Then either delete the caches in the filter or update them to confirm they are archived and then filter on archived caches to delete.

There are lots of filter options for offline lists. Click on the "funnel" at the top right by the search bar.

Once you import new pocket queries you should be able to delete archived caches with a Date Last Updated filter. This is what I do in GSAK. The filter doesn't appear to risk properly in the latest beta. I've reported that issue here:

Bolling reacted to Nic Hubbard in Cache Note Template
I would think a simple insert feature would work here. Such as an option to insert the current date, your username, etc etc. Keywords wouldn't work since they would need to be replaced before synching with geocaching.com.

Bolling reacted to Nic Hubbard in Screen rotation
I don’t have plans for this. Every screen would need to be adjusted, and many would need to be redesigned.
It would be a huge amount of work that could be going into other important features.

Bolling reacted to Nic Hubbard in Lost selected cache
State restoration is something that I am working on, hopefully will be part of 3.1.

Bolling reacted to rragan in Waypoints- minor UI tweak
This will become largely a moot point for me when/if Cachly makes coordinates in text anywhere into a pressable hot link with options of navigate to, create location, set as Corrected coordinate, and Copy. Then I will rarely need to paste text into the Direct Input field

Bolling reacted to rragan in Offline List - Location.
There are two changes that might help this. One is to allow user-defined caches which are really richer locations and could belong to an offline list. This would get it on your offline map. I asked Nic to put such a feature on the list
The other is a different approach which I would find useful Geosphere has the concept of Target which is the last Cache you navigated to or explicitly set as target. Even if you switch offline lists the target cache is visible in the map of that list. You can also shift the map to show the target much as you show current position. Presumably, this could work with locations too

It's there a way to get them without syncing to iTunes?

Bolling reacted to rragan in Feature Dump
I listened to a Podcast about Geooh Live, an Android app. While Android users may have Cachly-envy, the reverse is also true. Here are Geooh features I'd love to see in Cachly.
Google Street View integration KML and GeoJSON overlays on maps (provides DeLorme), county boundaries. User would download and specify overlays to use Optional sounds to play for logging a Found and DNF. Just a fun thing Integrated Wherigo player (low priority) Show optimized cache visit route for a list of caches. Done by reaching out to Google for the heavy lifting Named filter lists that can be saved and reused Nearby cache notifications See Cachly Friends logs on a cache. This would be limited to the logs the API allows access to or is offline but could still be very handy -
Bolling got a reaction from Nic Hubbard in DT Loop Filter
I have to agree with you there. A developer who listens and no harm in asking.
Yep I'm one of the Geosphere users TeamDemp mentioned although I try my best not to say "in Geosphere" although I'm sure I've been guilty.
-
Bolling got a reaction from ChrisDen in DT Loop Filter
Thanks TeamDemp. I didn't know what looping was either.
Personally, this isn't the type of development path I'd prefer to see Cachly take. I think there is already a big list of more widely useful items. No offense to @rustywa

Would find it handy to be able to download a low-res map of the entire world.
