With the latest update 5.2.14 the „Copy to Cachly“ action also works on my iPhone. Thanks

    Waypoints not saving

Okay, so I guess I understand. Using a saved location from history or a list/pocket query means the new waypoint is not available until the saved location is updated. Thanks for the help.

You have to tap the option to choose where you want to import the GPX file. Hope that helps!

    Waypoints not saving

If you access history, it will first check your offline lists to see if it contains an offline cache. It that is not found then it will load a live cache.

    Import GPX file

Hello I am new to this forum and I have just installed Cachly on my Iphone 8+. I also use GSAK for many years and I was very hopefull to see whether Cachly accepted a GPX file from my found caches data base in GSAK. So what I did was I imported this data file via Itunes to Cachly, but unfortunately Cachly didn't accepts the file. See enclosed pictures. Any Idea what caused the problem?

    Waypoints not saving

I am maybe not sure after all, if I use “history” to open a cache page is that still live or not? So I just tried that and see the live tab grays out, so I would say there is a good possibility I am not live after all.

    Waypoints not saving

It is on the Live tab. I don’t think I have ever used off-line. Thanks for the response.

Is this on the live tab or offline?

    Waypoints not saving

The thread is a little old, but do not see where it was resolved. I have had this same problem basically since I started using Cachly a year ago. After I put in a waypoint, (which does show as the current coords, not zeros, when I start.) carefully make sure I save it before leaving the page. I can open it and navigate to the site. Close it and reopen it and everything is okay. But at some point it disappears. I have tested by creating a waypoint, saving it, copying it and pasting into the "Personal Note" section. At some point when I go back the waypoint is gone, but the personal note remains. Maybe when syncing with Geocaching.com it is overwritten? (Because I see the note on Geocaching.com now, but not the waypoint.) Currently on 5.2.13 (2). I just noticed this again. I solved a mystery cache, put the coords in, went and found the cache, logged the find, went home, now the waypoint is gone. If there is other information I can provide please let me know! ADDED: Not an issue, but often I end up with TWO identical waypoints, and do not delete either of them, but editing one sometimes I end up with THREE, some with original coordinates, then one new one with new/edited coords as if I "Copied" the original and then edited it, but I am not doing that, at least intentionally. ADDED TWO: Okay, I read what the other poster wrote about closing the app completely, then reopening it. That DID work, I now see the new and edited coordinates. BUT I thought I had deleted the original one since it was just to see if it would stay. So maybe I need to begin closing it completely each time I make a waypoint..... I do have the official Geocaching app installed also, but not normally open at the same time. I just checked and the old and edited coordinates show up in that app also. Well, I guess I know how to at least see them now if they disappear again. And yes, this is all "live".

There isn't currently a solution to this. I have been working directly with an Apple engineer on the issue, and as mentioned in the above when multiple apps are registering for GPX files is when the bug occurs. He said there is no fix. The one fix I do see in the thread is to allow Cachly to open ANY file type, which I am hesitant to do.

Looks like Apple broke this functionality for many apps. I didn't pick up on any solution in that thread. Every time someone claimed it was resolved, I'd expect updating to the next iOS patch or updating another installed app that uses the file extension (eg GPX) would cause the iOS bug to resurface.

Don’t know if you know this thread: https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/118932 But it looks very interesting.

Automatic Refresh to see caches while moving

Okay thank you sir for getting back to me. Keep Cachly rocking, I absolutely love the app?

    Import from iCloud Drive

That is exactly what I am doing now. I’m just trying to eliminate a step and have it work like Dropbox downloads. No worries. I’m am quite happy with the app.

    Import from iCloud Drive

You should already be able to do this, but you do it the opposite way. Open the Files app on your device and browse to your files, then: Long press the file Scroll down on the menu to "share" Then choose "Copy to Cachly" in the menu

    Import from iCloud Drive

I would like an “Import from iCloud” option. Why? Dropbox recently made a change to their Basic subscription and now limits it to three connected devices. So I am moving my files over to the iCloud Drive because I am already paying for storage space there.

Automatic Refresh to see caches while moving

No, Cachly does not have an option for this. It is a limit of the geocaching.com API and would be really hard for us to implement this feature. The official app is able to do this since they able to do things differently in their app.
  21. I will try to be clear with my question. On the Geocaching app there is an option to see caches automatically appear as one is moving. It is located in the top left of the mapping screen. Is there an option on cachly that does the same that I am not seeing or don’t know about?
  22. Thanks again Nic. Will wait for the next app update.
  23. No malfunction at all. It has to do with the new way that iOS 13 shows modal windows and allows them to be pulled down (test by getting to the bottom of the filters screen and continue pulling your finger and you will see the modal window kind of spring down and up when you let go) that is interfering with the touch events of the DT rating sliders.
  24. Thank you Nic. Assuming it’s just a malfunction on iPad’s as my iPhone 11 seems to work just fine with the same iOS 13.2?
  25. This is an iOS 13 issue that we are working to fix.
  26. Also - I’ve recently updated to software version iOS 13.2 on both the iPad and iPhone, but the iPad was doing this on the previous software version as well.
  27. Running 5.2.11(1) on both my iPad and iPhone. On the iPad in filter options I cannot slide the Difficulty or Terrain adjustments, but they work as normal on iPhone. Have logged out and logged back in, but have not deleted and reloaded the App as I didn’t want to lose any of my offline lists. Any suggestions? Thanks, RRM10
